Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Waltari Suokuokka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yu Kanta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Waltari Suokuokka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yu Kanta!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suokuokka takes a kick to the side of the head.
Kanta misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kanta wants to clinch up but Suokuokka keeps it at a distance.
Kanta tries to clinch but Suokuokka is having none of it.
Kanta tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Suokuokka paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Waltari Suokuokka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kanta takes a swing at Suokuokka's ribcage but misses.
Kanta shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Suokuokka defends it nicely.

Kanta shoots in looking for a takedown. Suokuokka tries to sprawl out of it but Kanta keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Suokuokka manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Waltari Suokuokka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yu Kanta.
Kanta tries to close the distance and clinch but Suokuokka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kanta shoots in but Suokuokka avoids the takedown attempt easily.

enabling Kanta to counter with a crisp jab.
Nice defenses there by Kanta.
Kanta with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Suokuokka to score with a decent uppercut.
Suokuokka closes the distance and pushes Kanta back into the cage.
Kanta is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Suokuokka is defending well for now.

The referee calls for Suokuokka to work.
Kanta is trying to force a seperation but Suokuokka has the dominant position.
Suokuokka keeps control of Kanta as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Suokuokka goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Kanta jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Suokuokka walks away with a smile on his face. Kanta gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Suokuokka rushes Kanta and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
BOOM! Suokuokka connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Suokuokka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

and Suokuokka counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Suokuokka drops Kanta with a beautiful combination! Kanta stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Suokuokka is looking for the KO!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Suokuokka rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kanta moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kanta moves forwards but Suokuokka connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Suokuokka crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kanta - the referee stops the clock and Suokuokka gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kanta. Suokuokka manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Kanta stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Suokuokka throws up his legs and catches Kanta in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Kanta tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Suokuokka! That came out of nowhere!
