Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jefferson Bokeair! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fedor Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A leg kick checked by Emelianenko. Emelianenko scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Emelianenko decides to return to a standing position. Emelianenko tries to clinch up but Bokeair circles away and keeps his distance. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Bokeair tries to reverse the position but Emelianenko maintains control. Emelianenko avoids the attempt from Bokeair to control. Bokeair wants to try and get back to his feet. Emelianenko postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bokeair looks a forlorn figure.
It looks like Jefferson Bokeair has been cut. Bokeair is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bokeair wants to hold on but Emelianenko pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko content just to control the position here. Emelianenko with a couple of short strikes. Emelianenko lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Jefferson Bokeair's cut is getting worse. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bokeair is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Bokeair is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bokeair can't escape the position.
Emelianenko mounts Bokeair! Really nice guard pass there! Emelianenko with the ground and pound from mount.
Bokeair is rocked!
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jefferson Bokeair's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
