Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dustin Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drake circles away from the clinch attempt.
Williams tries to clinch but Drake is having none of it. Williams swinging wilding here.

Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Drake moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Williams drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Drake clinches but Williams breaks the clinch and Williams counters with a lovely straight right hand! Williams tries to clinch but fails miserably and Drake counters with a nice double leg into side control. Williams won't be happy with that. Williams is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Drake is trying to get an arm triangle but Williams is defending well. Drake prevents Williams from escaping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drake looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Williams is avoiding damage well.
Drake is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Williams has escaped the position, nice work there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Drake has just dragged him back down to the mat. Williams throws Drake to one side and escapes! Williams tries to clinch and Drake counters by clinching up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Drake's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Williams leaves Drake with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Williams darts in trying to clinch and Drake counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Williams tries to clinch and Drake counters by moving into the clinch. Williams tries for a takedown but Drake manages to get underhooks.

Dustin Drake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Williams. Williams looks gassed! Drake throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Williamss head. Drake's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Drake misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Drake moves in looking to clinch but Williams pushes him off.

Drake keeps control of Williams as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Williams gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Drake.

and Drake counters by moving into the clinch. Drake doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Drake's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Drake pushes Williams back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. A short right from Drake. Drake lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Williams is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Drake works on Williams's body with a couple of short punches. Drake lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Williams can't break the clinch.
Drake's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Horrible takedown by Drake or perhaps it was just good defense by Williams which made him look bad. Drake fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Williams, pushing him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Drake connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Drake gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Williams blocking some punches.

That's one minute gone in the round. Drake content to stall in guard here. Drake has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Drake advances to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Drake in particular looking to stall. Williams is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Drake moves nicely into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams is trying to buck Drake off. Williams is breathing heavily. Drake wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working. Drake tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drake controlling from side mount. Williams avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Drake.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Williams is looking to get back to his feet here but Drake is keeping cool and he's managed to take Williams's back. Drake struggling to land strikes to the head as Williams covers up. Williams looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dustin Drake dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Drake bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Drake clinches. Williams is trying to break free. Williams has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Drake avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. The referee is keeping an eye on Drake - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Drake gets through Williams's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Drake scores with an uppercut up the middle. Drake drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Williams gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Matt Williams has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Drake is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Williams gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Drake scores with a shot to the side of Williams's head. Drake can't get the takedown.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Williams is trying to break free. Williams tries a body shot but Drake blocks it.

And that's the end of the fight! Dustin Drake showed his dominance in that final round. Well Drake has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
