Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Padilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marius Budawalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Padilla comes to the cage accompanied by crank that. The crowd seem to be enjoying Budawalski's choice of entrance music: Terminator Theme. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Manuel Padilla! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marius Budawalski! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Budawalski ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Padilla throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Padilla throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Padilla keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Budawalski. Marius Budawalski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Budawalski takes a kick to the side of the head. Budawalski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Padilla thows a body shot but no joy. Budawalski moves in looking to clinch but Padilla pushes him off. Budawalski throws a hook to the side of Padilla's head but Padilla sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Budawalski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Padilla swats him away and circles back towards the center. Padilla lands with an uppercut that bounces Budawalski off the cage and back into rage. Padilla showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Budawalski.
Padilla clobbers Budawalski with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Budawalski tries to clinch but Padilla is having none of it. Padilla lands a head shot. Padilla jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Padilla drops Budawalski with a beautiful combination! Budawalski stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Padilla is looking for the KO!

Budawalski misses the body punch and Padilla cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Padilla goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. A jab from Budawalski misses. Padilla cracks Budawalski with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Padilla pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Padilla connects with the punch. Padilla throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Padilla looks to land a left hand but Budawalski moved out of range nicely. Padilla misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Budawalski counters with a lovely shot to the body. Padilla is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Padilla throws a head kick that misses. Budawalski moves out of range of the strikes. Budawalski wants to clinch up but Padilla keeps it at a distance. Budawalski throws a body punch but Padilla moves out of range. Padilla looks to land a body kick but Budawalski moved away. Budawalski is looking to clinch. A shot to the body from Budawalski misses and Padilla counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Budawalski feints and as Padilla raises his hands in defense, Budawalski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Budawalski advances position into side control! Budawalski thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Budawalski goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Padilla has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Budawalski but great work by Padilla.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Budawalski gets back to half guard. Padilla wants to stand up but Budawalski has a hold of him and won't allow it. Budawalski is trying to get back to full guard. Budawalski manages to get to full guard.

Padilla wants to stand but Budawalski has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Budawalski looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Padilla stands up out of the half guard. Padilla motions for Budawalski to come forward. Padilla throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Padilla stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Padilla wants it to stay on the feet. Padilla uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Budawalski is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Padilla. Padilla misses with a series of wild punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Budawalski jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Padilla walks away with a smile on his face. Budawalski gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Budawalski tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Padilla stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Budawalski rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Padilla moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Budawalski cracks Padilla with a right hand to the side of the head. Padilla throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Budawalski on the side of the head. Nice defenses there by Padilla. Padilla fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Budawalski looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Manuel Padilla is winning the standup battle so far. Padilla falls off balance throwing a combination
and Budawalski counters with a nice uppercut. Padilla connects with a looping right hand.

Budawalski thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Budawalski stops Padilla from standing up.

The fighters roll with the hold and Padilla manages to kick Budawalski off! Budawalski jumps back into Padilla's guard. Padilla keeping full guard, as Budawalski tries to pass. Budawalski in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Padilla wants to get back to his feet but Budawalski is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

This could be trouble! No, Padilla has managed to free his arm - good work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Budawalski seems to be looking for submissions.

Budawalski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Padilla tries to avoid it but Budawalski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Padilla to the ground. Padilla escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Padilla lands a glancing blow to the side of Budawalski's head. Padilla swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Padilla stalks Budawalski and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Budawalski's face. Budawalski staggers backwards, shaken. Budawalski looks to land a left hand but Padilla moved out of range nicely. Padilla swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Budawalski cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Budawalski drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Left hook, right uppercut from Padilla. Budawalski decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Budawalski missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Budawalski seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Padilla is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
