Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shibukawa Gouki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendall Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shibukawa Gouki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kendall Alves!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gouki shoots in looking for a takedown. Alves tries to sprawl out of it but Gouki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alves manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Gouki scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Alves tries to improve position but can't.

Gouki is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Alves has escaped the position, nice work there.
Alves gets back to half guard.
Alves controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Gouki is thwarting Alves's attempts to control the position.

Gouki seems to be working for a kimura but Alves defends the submission attempt.

Gouki looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Alves lands a jab to Gouki's midsection.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Alves shoots in and bounces Gouki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Alves is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Alves is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Alves wants to sweep here but Gouki controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Gouki is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Alves is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Alves closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gouki did well to prevent Alves getting side control.
Alves content to control rather than advance.
Alves thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Gouki to regain full guard.

Alves is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Gouki might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Despite being in the dominant position, Kendall Alves just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Alves shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gouki's guard.
Alves postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Alves is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Alves passes to full mount!
Alves lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Gouki tries to hold on but Alves pushes him away.
Alves controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Alves misses with a head shot.
Alves tries to control but Gouki wriggling away.
Alves might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gouki kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kendall Alves showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Gouki avoids the body shot from Alves.
Alves lands with an overhand left.
Alves digs a good hook to Gouki's body.
Gouki has his takedown stuffed
and Alves counters with a nice body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alves scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gouki in his tracks.

Gouki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Alves regains full guard. Nicely done.

Alves is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Alves not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gouki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kendall Alves has got the better of the ground game so far.

Alves looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Alves has his hands on Gouki's head, controlling the position.
Gouki trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Alves has his foot on Gouki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gouki works his way back into a safe position though.

Gouki wants to control from the top but Alves keeps moving.

Gouki drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Alves dives on top into guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Shibukawa Gouki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Alves fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Gouki looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kendall Alves comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Alves has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
