Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Snake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joey Jones is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Snake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Joey Jones!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.
Snake displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.
Snake cracks Jones with a right hand to the side of the head.
Jones shoots in but no luck this time.

Jones closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Snake did well to prevent Jones getting side control.
Snake is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Snake manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Jones pulls Snake into guard.
Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Snake does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Snake swivels and escapes.
Snake fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
Jake Snake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Snake as he jumps to the side.
Snake moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Snake shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Snake finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Snake decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Snake throws a right and a left that Jones avoids nicely.
Jones takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Snake is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Snake manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Snake's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Snake's guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Jones shoots and misses

and Snake counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Jones has Snake pressed against the cage, preventing Snake from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Jones keeps control of Snake as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Snake is trying to drag Jones to the mat but Jones just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Snake pulls his leg out and moves away.

Snake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones throws a nice inside leg kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Snake cracks Jones with an open hand slap.
Snake misses the shot to the body.
Snake throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily.

and Snake counters with a series of strikes. Jones will be more careful next time no doubt.

Snake has managed to clinch.
Snake digs a right hand underneath Jones's ribcage. Jones let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Jones prevents Snake from breaking the clinch.
Jones lands a knee to the body.
Jones is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.

and Snake connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Snake counters with a right hand to the body.

and Jones takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Snake gets a clinch.
Snake misses with a hook from the clinch.
Jones tries to score a body lock takedown but Snake shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A punch lands to the side of Jones 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Snake is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Jones has Snake pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Snake manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Jones jumps guard.

Snake thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Snake works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard.
Snake in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Snake gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting.

and Snake counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Snake.

Jones fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jones gets underhooks to prevent Snake's takedown attempt.

Jones is trying to trip Snake. He has hold of a leg but Snake is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jones persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Snake escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Snake swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Joey Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Snake is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Snake has escaped and now he's on top!

Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Snake is aware though and is defending well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jake Snake showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Snake has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
