Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Kakko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Celso Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santos comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Linkin Park - Faint kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Kakko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Celso Santos! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kakko shoots in and bounces Santos off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Santos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Santos is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kakko is aware though and is defending well. Kakko might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Santos is trying to control the position but Kakko postures up. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kakko avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kakko wanted to stand there but Santos had control of the position. Santos trying to control the position.
Kakko stands up from guard. Let's bang! Kakko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Santos. Kakko shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Santos's guard. Kakko gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Kakko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Santos looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kakko stands up and waves to Santos to follow him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kakko with a body punch. A glancing blow. A head kick misses from Kakko. Kakko looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Kakko is looking for a kimura but Santos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kakko to get the leverage. Santos is defending against the submission attempts here by Kakko.

Kakko stands up and beckons Santos to join him on the feet. Santos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos blocks a head kick by Kakko.
Santos tries to move into range but Kakko moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Santos closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kakko is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Santos pulls his head out easily. Kakko looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Santos looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kakko actively working from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kakko sees it coming and defends easily. Kakko actively working from the bottom here. Kakko keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kakko is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Santos pulls his head out easily. Kakko actively working from the bottom here. Santos thows a huge punch but Kakko dodges it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kakko misses with a wild combination.
Santos gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kakko to score an easy takedown into full guard. Kakko wanted to stand there but Santos had control of the position. Santos wants to stand up but Kakko is controlling him. Kakko stands up from Santos's guard - Kakko perhaps looking for a knockout. Tony Kakko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kakko throws a right and a left that Santos avoids nicely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Santos ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tony Kakko dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Kakko shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Santos napping and manages to drive through into side control! Kakko swings around for an armbar but Santos sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kakko's guard. Santos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kakko has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Santos has managed to get both his arms back between Kakko's legs - danger averted. Kakko looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Santos passes Kakko's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Santos is working for a submission of some sort.
Kakko is not content to let Santos control the position. Santos missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kakko slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Santos avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kakko is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kakko has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Santos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Santos throws a big right hand that misses. Santos trying to control the position from guard on top but Kakko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Santos is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kakko has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Santos is looking to defend but Kakko has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Santos! Kakko pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Santos taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Tony Kakko!
