Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Hopp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jimmy Moose!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hopp shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hopp showed some decent athleticism there.
Moose looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Hopp is nestled in close to Moose, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hopp looks to land a strike but Moose avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Hopp trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Moose wants to get back to his feet but Hopp is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Hopp makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hopp is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Moose is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Moose has escaped and now he's on top!
Hopp manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Moose manages to get himself to full guard.
Hopp scoring with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hopp gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hopp scores a takedown into full mount!
Hopp lands a nice shot to the head.
Hopp working for a guillotine from mount but Moose is in no mood to give up.
Hopp goes for an armbar but Moose turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Moose.
Moose wants to stand but Hopp has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hopp is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hopp wants to control but Moose passes easily into half guard.
Hopp gets full guard.
Hopp looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Moose has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Hopp to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Moose is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Hopp pulls down on the head and he's put Moose to sleep! This one is all over!
