2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julio Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clayton Dewall! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dewall closes the distance and clinches. Gracie is working for takedown but Dewall is calmly controlling the position for now. Gracie tries for a takedown but Dewall manages to get underhooks.
Dewall breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dewall avoids the head kick by Gracie.
Dewall closes the distance and pushes Gracie back into the cage. Gracie goes for a takedown attempt but Dewall pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Julio Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dewall throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Julio Gracie has been cut. Dewall throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely. Gracie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Gracie dives in and grabs Dewall's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dewall pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out. Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dewall to the mat! Dewall manages to get full guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gracie is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Gracie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gracie decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Gracie avoids the head kick by Dewall.

Gracie is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Dewall gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Dewall's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dewall will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A head kick misses from Dewall. Gracie throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dewall was covering up waiting for the punch and Gracie finishes the takedown easily into guard. Gracie controls from within his opponent's guard. Dewall manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dewall sprawls well. Dewall wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet. Dewall has closed the distance and engaged Gracie in a clinch.

Gracie shoots in and drives through. Dewall sprawls well. Nice takedown defense from Dewall. No joy for Gracie on that attempt. Dewall closes the distance and pushes Gracie back into the cage. Dewall creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Gracie can't get the takedown.

Dewall gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Dewall is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Gracie is stalling in the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie works a leg free and moves into half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gracie is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gracie thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dewall's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dewall manages to escape and get back to his feet! Gracie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Dewall tries to kick Gracie off but Gracie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gracie in particular looking to stall. Gracie is looking for a kimura here.
