Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Anderson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos Strikes! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strikes wants to clinch. Strikes tries to clinch up. Anderson throws a head kick but Strikes moves out of range.
Carlos Strikes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Strikes takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Anderson ducks under a wild hook from Strikes. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Strikes as he avoids it easily. Anderson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Anderson is breathing heavily. Anderson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Anderson throws a combination that misses and Strikes counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. A head kick misses from Strikes. An inside leg kick from Strikes misses. Strikes misses with an attempted mid kick.
Anderson throws a lazy head kick and Strikes moves into the clinch. Strikes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Strikes wants to clinch up but Anderson keeps it at a distance. Anderson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Anderson keeps the fight on the outside. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Carlos Strikes will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Andrew Anderson's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looks like Carlos Strikes has been cut. Strikes tries to lock up and control but Anderson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Strikes bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Anderson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Strikes is stalling in the full guard. Strikes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Strikes trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Strikes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Anderson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Strikes wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving. Anderson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Strikes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Anderson looking for a kimura from the bottom but Strikes passes into side control! Strikes tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Anderson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Andrew Anderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Anderson actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Anderson tries to roll over but Strikes keeps him under control. Anderson trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Strikes manages to pass to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Anderson lands a right hook to the body.
Both fighters circling a little - Anderson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. A head kick by Strikes misses and Anderson counters with a leg kick. Strikes is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted. Strikes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Anderson was well out of range. Poor timing from Strikes. Anderson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Anderson stands and throws Strikes's legs to the side, diving into side control. Anderson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
