Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Bobby Knuckles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Hansen! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knuckles shoots in but Hansen avoids the takedown attempt easily. Knuckles changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hansen tries to avoid it but Knuckles manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hansen to the ground. Hansen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hansen.
Knuckles avoids a kick to the body.
Hansen catches Knuckles with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Hansen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hansen wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Knuckles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hansen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Knuckles on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Knuckles actively working from the bottom here. Hansen with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Hansen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Knuckles keeps working.

Despite being in the dominant position, Ken Hansen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hansen misses with a hook. Hansen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Knuckles to the mat! Knuckles manages to get full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Knuckles has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hansen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Knuckles looking for a guillotine here but Hansen defends easily.

Hansen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hansen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hansen tries to clinch but Knuckles is having none of it. Knuckles shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hansen as he jumps to the side. Knuckles lands with a right hand. Hansen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hansen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Knuckles is trying to defend but Hansen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Knuckles looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Knuckles is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hansen works his way into side control. Knuckles takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Knuckles being controlled for a moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hansen cracks Knuckles with an elbow. That is naaassty. Knuckles is looking for a sweep. Hansen controls the position from side control. Hansen works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Hansen trying to control the action but Knuckles is working from the bottom. Hansen connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Knuckles some visible discomfort.

Knuckles is looking for a sweep. Hansen working the head with strikes. Hansen scoring with punches and elbows. Hansen connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Knuckles some visible discomfort.

Knuckles on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Hansen lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Knuckles regains half guard. Knuckles actively working from the bottom here. Knuckles is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hansen pulls his head out easily.

Ken Hansen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Knuckles is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hansen. Knuckles fails with the takedown. Hansen pivots, looking for a leg kick but Knuckles is out of range and Hansen settles back down. Hansen blocks a head kick by Knuckles.

Hansen closes the distance and clinches. Knuckles managing to block the knees to the body from Hansen.
Knuckles jumps guard but Hansen stands there with Knuckles around his waist. Knuckles gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hansen slowing the pace effectively. Hansen crunches a lovely knee into Knuckles's ribcage. Hansen tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Knuckles avoids it. Knuckles wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Both fighters are breathing heavily. A hook to the body from Hansen.

Knuckles seems a little lost for a moment, as Hansen dominates the positioning. Knuckles taking punishment in the form of punches.
Hansen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hansen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Knuckles is looking to reverse the position. Hansen is looking to take a break and control but Knuckles is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Knuckles sneaks back into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knuckles looking for subs from the bottom but Hansen mounts him! Hansen breaks from Knuckles's wrist control and lands an elbow. Hansen looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Hansen scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Ken Hansen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hansen wants to control the pace but Knuckles is squirming around nicely. Hansen avoids the attempt from Knuckles to control. Knuckles is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Hansen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Knuckles actively working from the bottom here. Knuckles looking for submissions off his back. Hansen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Bobby Knuckles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hansen looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Hansen trying to control the pace. Hansen prevents Knuckles from standing back up.

And that's the end of the fight! Ken Hansen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hansen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
