Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Duane Foreman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Max Muntari!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Foreman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Muntari changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Foreman fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Muntari tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Foreman counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Muntari is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Muntari jumps guard and drags Foreman to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Muntari wants to get back to his feet but Foreman is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Foreman has gone for a leg lock! Muntari slips out almost immediately though and dives into Foreman's guard.
Muntari is looking to stand up but Foreman won't let him.

Foreman has control of Muntari's left arm, preventing Muntari from doing any damage.
Muntari wants to stand but Foreman is controlling his posture from full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Muntari won't allow Foreman to sweep him here.
Muntari has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Foreman is proving hard to escape from.

Muntari stands and steps away. Foreman gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Foreman counters with a low kick, right behind Muntari 's knee.

Foreman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Muntari keeps working.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Foreman dives in and grabs Muntari's left leg, looking for a takedown. Muntari pushes down on Foreman's head and hops out.

Muntari has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Foreman is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Foreman decides to pull guard.
Muntari is looking to stand up but Foreman won't let him.

and Foreman counters with a takedown into side control.

Foreman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Muntari, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Foreman swings around for an armbar but Muntari sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Foreman's guard.
Foreman controls Muntari momentarily but Muntari frees himself.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Muntari gets to his feet - Foreman follows without any prompting.
Muntari paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Muntari tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Foreman counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Muntari kicks off Foreman and gets to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Duane Foreman dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Muntari gets caught flat footed, as Foreman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Foreman is pushing down on Muntari's leg trying to pass to half guard. Muntari is fighting to maintain full guard but Foreman has managed to sneak the leg through.

Muntari makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Foreman has managed to clinch.
Muntari with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Muntari throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Foreman blocks it with crossed arms.

Muntari breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Muntari tries to clinch but Foreman moves away

and Foreman counters by moving into the clinch.
Muntari misses with a knee strike.
Muntari is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Muntari wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Foreman breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Foreman stuffs the takedown attempt from Muntari. Muntari gets slowly back to his feet.

Muntari darts in trying to clinch
and Foreman counters with a two punch combo.

and Foreman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Foreman.

Foreman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Muntari is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Muntari has escaped and now he's on top!
Muntari has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Foreman is proving hard to escape from.

Foreman has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Muntari has passed into side control.

Muntari stands up and beckons Foreman to his feet.
Max Muntari has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Muntari looks to clinch

so Foreman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Muntari striking off his back but it's not causing Foreman any problems.
Muntari keeping moving, preventing Foreman from controlling successfully.
Duane Foreman is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Muntari trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Duane Foreman showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Foreman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
