Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Marcos Nogueira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Barbosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira avoids the head kick by Barbosa.
Nogueira looks for a takedown but Barbosa sprawls well.
Barbosa doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Nogueira counters with a nice double leg into side control. Barbosa won't be happy with that.
Nogueira swings around for an armbar but Barbosa sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nogueira's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nogueira is trying to control the position but Barbosa postures up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Barbosa throws a strike there. Nogueira manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
Barbosa is stalling here. Nogueira is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Barbosa seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Nogueira has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Barbosa moves into range and clinches up with Nogueira.

Barbosa shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Barbosa showed some decent athleticism there.

so Barbosa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

and Nogueira counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Barbosa's guard now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nogueira is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Barbosa looks calm but he's in trouble here. Nogueira gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Barbosa is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Nogueira lets go of the hold and Barbosa can pop his arm back in it's socket.
