The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Roberts or perhaps it was just good defense by Sherk which made him look bad.
Sherk shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Sherk wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roberts keeps working.
Sherk wants to pass the guard but Roberts is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sherk is taking a breather. Roberts says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Sherk working the head and body with strikes.
Sherk winds up and cracks Roberts with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are battling for position here. Roberts manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Sherk throwing strikes from guard but Roberts blocks nicely.
Roberts escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sherk gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sherk trying to control the position from guard on top but Roberts is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sherk is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Roberts lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sherk!
Roberts takes Sherk's back.
Roberts is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Sherk with him. Sherk is trying to defend but Roberts has an arm under the chin now! Sherk grimaces and is forced to tap out!
