The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mortis lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Caldwell at a distance.
Caldwell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mortis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mortis takes a swing at Caldwell's ribcage but misses.
Mortis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mortis fails to land with a series of punches.
Mortis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Caldwell was well out of range. Poor timing from Mortis.
Caldwell scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Caldwell wants to work for an arm triangle but Mortis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Caldwell is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Caldwell swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mortis is now in Caldwell's guard. A big mistake from Caldwell there, giving up the dominant position!
Caldwell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mortis tries to free his leg and advance position but Caldwell is retaining full guard.
Mortis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Caldwell is proving hard to escape from.

Mortis does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Kyle Mortis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mortis, right into the meat.
Kyle Mortis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Caldwell is breathing heavily.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Caldwell checks a leg kick.
Mortis misses with a straight right.
Caldwell doesn't manage to clinch there - Mortis circles away.
Mortis throws a looping overhand right but Caldwell ducks down to avoid it.
Mortis takes a swing at Caldwell's ribcage but misses.
Mortis keeps the fight on the outside.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mortis.
Mortis throws a shot to the body.

Caldwell moves out of range of the strikes.
Mortis connects with a nice looking jab.
Mortis throws a head kick but Caldwell moves out of range.
Mortis throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Mortis lands a big head kick that sends Caldwell tumbling to the mat! Mortis takes a step backwards and waves Caldwell back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Caldwell is rocked!
Caldwell ducks into an uppercut from Mortis and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!
