Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Flay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Pate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flay's entrance music is Iron Chef. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flay lands a nice looking kick to the body. Pate takes a step back to recover.
Flay bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

It looks like Jake Pate has been cut.

Pate feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pate sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Flay's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Pate throws a lazy right hand but Flay sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Flay feints and then cracks Pate's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pate down.
Flay catches Pate with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

The crowd cheers as Pate lands an impressive looking overhand right. Flay doesn't seem phased though.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pate connects with a nice short shot to Flay's temple.

Pate looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Flay with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Pate thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Flay's head.
