PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ronaldo Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pain has chosen Ol' Dirty Bastard - Shimmy Shimmy Ya as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rob Pain is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Pain!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pain sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Souza somewhat.

Pain gets a takedown into half guard.

Pain is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Pain goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Souza rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Pain's guard! Nice work there by Souza!
Pain is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Souza is controlling him.

Pain is looking for a triangle but Souza pushes his legs off easily.

Souza drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pain dives on top into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Pain postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Souza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Pain, into his guard.
Souza would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Pain escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Souza gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rob Pain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Pain hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
