Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Dodd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Puuha Pete!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pete decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Dodd wants to get back to his feet.
Ground and pound from Pete.
Dodd is trying to stand back up but Pete is controlling him
Dodd trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Pete is nestled in close to Dodd, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Dodd tries to kick Pete off but Pete keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pete lands a nice short elbow.
Dodd is trying to stand back up but Pete is controlling him

Pete is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Pete winds up and cracks Dodd with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pete in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pete is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Dodd has hold of Pete's hands but Pete slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Pete stalling.
Pete prevents Dodd from standing back up.
Pete has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Pete is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Pete uses his free foot to push down on Dodd's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dodd.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Dodd is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Dodd is breathing heavily.
Pete controlling the pace for now.
Dodd is trying to stand up.

Pete fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Pete swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
