Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Says (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Says! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jesse James! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Says does no damage. James shoots in for a takedown but Says shows good takedown defense. A head kick from James lands but Says takes it in his stride. Says lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
James shoots in but no luck this time. James swats away the attempt to clinch by Says. James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Matt Says has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse James. Says is looking to clinch. Says throws a low kick, looking for James's leg but James calmly moves out of range. Says tries to close the distance and clinch but James swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Says avoids a kick to the body.
Nice straight punches there by James. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of James. Says fails in his attempt to clinch. Says rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but James moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Says misses with a jab, cross combination.
Says ducks down and throws a hook to the body but James moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Says pulls out of a head kick attempt.
James drives through and clinches with Says against the cage.
Says pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Says gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. James drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Says gets the underhooks and prevents it.

James tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Says just stands there and leans against the cage. James drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Says gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Says lands with a right to the head. James tries to break the clinch but Says is controlling the position. Says using the Thai plumb to throw knees but James has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Says scores with a shoulder strike. James turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Says wants to get back to his feet but James drags him back down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. James tries to score with some ground and pound. Says controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Says throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Says tries to clinch but James is having none of it. James uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Says. James shoots in for a takedown but Says shows good takedown defense. James looks gassed! Says tries to grapple but his opponent circles and James counters with a nice leg kick. James dodges the punch combination from Says.
Says blocks the body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Says doesn't manage to clinch there - James circles away.
Says clinches up with James and pushes him back against the cage. James has Says pressed against the cage, preventing Says from circling away and getting back to striking at range. James is trying to break the clinch but Says has him pressed against the cage. James is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Says gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Says tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Says swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
James throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Matt Says seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Says fails in his attempt to clinch. James misses with a takedown attempt - Says sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from James. Says looks for the body kick but James saw that one coming.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Says tries to clinch but James moves away and James counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by James. James changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Says fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Says moves into the clinch. Says is looking to break free of the clinch but James has double underhooks. James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Says wants to clinch and James counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. James stops Says from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Says sprawls well. Says wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. James gets slowly back to his feet. Says stuffs the takedown attempt from James. James gets slowly back to his feet. James throws a sloppy body shot
and Says moves into the clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. James escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Says fails in his attempt to clinch. Says tries to clinch up and James counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Says's guard now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. James throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. James postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. James looking to pass the guard. Says wants to stand and escape but James is having none of it. Says has momentary wrist control but James slips an elbow through the middle. James stands up from Says's guard - James perhaps looking for a knockout. Says swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. James gets the takedown into side control. James cracks Says with a big right hand but Says just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
James lands a few punches from side control. Says wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's two minutes gone in the round. James is trying to get an arm triangle but Says is defending well. Says is trying to buck James off. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. James works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. James has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. James connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Says some visible discomfort.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Says wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! James tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no James has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! James is trying to get an arm triangle but Says is defending well. James goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Says has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for James but great work by Says. Jesse James has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. James is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Says lands a decent elbow from side control. Says tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. James is trying to get back to half guard. James struggling a bit here. Says working the ground and pound but James is defending the strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jesse James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Says throws a right and a left that both miss. James lands with a slapping head kick. Says tries to clinch but fails miserably and James counters with a head kick.
Says is rocked! No joy there for Says, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
James throws a nice looking combination but Says bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. James looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. James pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Says wants to clinch but James slips to the side and Says takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Says clinches with his opponent.
James tries to break the clinch but Says is controlling the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. James wants to break free but Says has control.
Says manages to break the clinch.
James moves out of range as Says throws a body kick.
Says tries to clinch up and James counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by James.
That's one minute gone in the round. James distracts Says with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. James makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. James working some strikes from top position. Says is working an open guard so James takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. James rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Says moves out of range and avoids them all easily. James fails to land the takedown. James showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Says.
James throws a half hearted mid kick. Jesse James is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Says. James misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Says throws a combination that misses and James counters by moving into the clinch. James gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Says regains guard.

James throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Matt Says is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. James shoots and misses letting Says counter with a right hand. Matt Says has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse James. James closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - James lands in his opponent's guard. Says wants to get back to his feet but James is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James is working Says over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. James throwing strikes but missing. James controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. James stands up and waves to Says to follow him. Some wild striking there from Says.
Matt Says is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Says defends well against a solid takedown attempt from James. James misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Says looks to clinch and James counters with a big head kick but Says shrugs it off. Says gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. James goes for a takedown attempt but Says pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Says tries to clinch up but James circles away and keeps his distance. Matt Says has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. James shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than James was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
And that's the end of the fight! Jesse James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got James winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
