Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Pietersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Mendelsohn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendelsohn comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I Stand Alone from Godsmack kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Kevin Mendelsohn is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Pietersen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Mendelsohn! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pietersen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Mendelsohn avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pietersen slips under a jab. Mendelsohn looks to score with a jab to the body but Pietersen is just out of range. Mendelsohn throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mendelsohn moves in looking to clinch but Pietersen pushes him off. Pietersen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Mendelsohn fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pietersen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Pietersen wants to clinch but Mendelsohn slips to the side and Mendelsohn counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Pietersen tries to get to full guard but Mendelsohn has control of the leg. Pietersen won't allow Mendelsohn to pass to mount. Mendelsohn working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Pietersen's thigh. Pietersen counters though and makes it back to full guard. Pietersen keeping full guard, as Mendelsohn tries to pass.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pietersen looking for a sweep. Not yet Pietersen, not yet. Mendelsohn trying to stand up but can't free himself from Pietersen's guard. Pietersen wants to sweep here but Mendelsohn controlling him for the moment. Pietersen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mendelsohn's guard. Pietersen looking to pass the guard. Pietersen won't allow Mendelsohn to get back to his feet. Mendelsohn working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pietersen. Pietersen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mendelsohn swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pietersen stops Mendelsohn from standing up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mendelsohn can't keep his opponent in guard - Pietersen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Mendelsohn trying to hold on to Pietersen's head to control him but Pietersen postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mendelsohn can do anything to dispel that myth.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pietersen misses with a low kick as Mendelsohn jumps back. Pietersen misses with a takedown and Mendelsohn counters with a two punch combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Pietersen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pietersen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Pietersen trying to control the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendelsohn is trying to escape back to his feet but Pietersen uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Pietersen stands up and beckons Mendelsohn to his feet. Mendelsohn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mendelsohn fails to land with a series of punches.
Pietersen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pietersen tries to clinch up. Mendelsohn throws a right hand that Pietersen ducks under and follows up with a left that Pietersen also avoids with ease. Pietersen tries to clinch up but Mendelsohn circles away and keeps his distance. Mendelsohn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pietersen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Mendelsohn throws a head kick but Pietersen moves out of range.
Mendelsohn closes the distance and pushes Pietersen back into the cage. Mendelsohn has Pietersen pushed against the cage. Pietersen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Mendelsohn pulls him back up using the underhooks. Pietersen wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mendelsohn is trying to break free. Mendelsohn working aggressively here.
Mendelsohn tightens his grip and picks Pietersen up, before dumping him to the ground. Pietersen manages to land in guard. Mendelsohn looks gassed! Mendelsohn trying to control but Pietersen is working from the bottom. Mendelsohn is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pietersen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pietersen has escaped and now he's on top! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevin Mendelsohn dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Pietersen decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Pietersen decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Pietersen tries to clinch but Mendelsohn moves away so Mendelsohn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Pietersen trying to control the position here. Pietersen tries to land a sweep but no joy. Pietersen throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Pietersen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mendelsohn throwing strikes but missing. Pietersen working for a triangle but Mendelsohn defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendelsohn looking to pass the guard. Mendelsohn is breathing heavily. Mendelsohn throws a strike but Pietersen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Mendelsohn being controlled here, momentarily. Pietersen won't allow Mendelsohn to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pietersen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Pietersen stands and throws Mendelsohn's legs to the side, diving into side control. Mendelsohn is not content to let Pietersen control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pietersen has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Mendelsohn!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pietersen lands a heavy elbow. Pietersen fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Mendelsohn has given up his back.
Pietersen has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Mendelsohn has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Mendelsohn is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet. Pietersen gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mendelsohn to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Pietersen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mendelsohn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mendelsohn throws a big right hand that misses. Pietersen wriggles free and stands up. Pietersen has a takedown stuffed. Pietersen takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pietersen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mendelsohn as he avoids it easily. Pietersen moves into range and clinches up with Mendelsohn. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pietersen fails with the takedown and Mendelsohn counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mendelsohn would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Pietersen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mendelsohn's guard. Mendelsohn is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pietersen is controlling him. Pietersen stands and steps away. Mendelsohn gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Pietersen tries to clinch up but Mendelsohn circles away and keeps his distance. Both fighters are breathing heavily. A telegraphed right hand from Mendelsohn misses the target. Pietersen is looking to clinch but Mendelsohn is avoiding it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pietersen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Pietersen is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Mendelsohn misses with a head kick.

Pietersen with a poor takedown and Mendelsohn counters with a nice uppercut. Pietersen scores with a takedown into Mendelsohn's guard. Pietersen stands up and waves to Mendelsohn to follow him. Mendelsohn scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A jab lands there for Mendelsohn. Pietersen gets the takedown into side control. Pietersen looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Mendelsohn is avoiding damage well.
Pietersen swings around for an armbar but Mendelsohn sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Pietersen's guard. Mendelsohn trying to move into half guard but instead Pietersen has managed to sweep! Mendelsohn trying to control the position here. Pietersen showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Pietersen slips nicely into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pietersen is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Mendelsohn is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
