Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Price! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn Griffin! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Price is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Griffin off and has taken his back! Price trying to control momentarily.
Griffin trying to control the hands but Price breaks the grip. I really don't envy Griffin right now.
Price throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Griffin manages to reverse the position and now he's in Price's guard. Nice work there by Griffin.
Griffin is looking to stand up but Price won't let him. Griffin trying to control the position from guard on top but Price is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Griffin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Price swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Griffin shoots in and bounces Price off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Price keeping moving, preventing Griffin from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Price working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Griffin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Griffin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Griffin trying to control the position from guard on top but Price is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Price wants to sweep but no luck. Price looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Griffin throws and elbow that misses. Price uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Griffin's guard. Nice move by Price!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Price trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Price is breathing heavily. Price working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Griffin's head. Price in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Price looking to pass the guard. Griffin is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Price stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Griffin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Griffin is looking to stand up but Price isn't so interested in that idea.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Griffin misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Price drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Price is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Griffin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Griffin has escaped and now he's on top! Griffin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Price wants to sweep but no luck. Price looking for a guillotine here but Griffin defends easily.
Price manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Price scores a takedown into full mount! Price controlling from the full mount. Price scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Griffin?
Price postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Griffin looks a forlorn figure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Price punishing his opponent with strikes. Price trying to control but he's not successful this time. Price has isolated one of Griffin's arms. Griffin looking to fight him off but Price twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
