The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charping shoots in but Gaines avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Chase Charping seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Charping looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Charping fails with an attempt to clinch.

Gaines shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Gaines looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Gaines cracks Charping with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

It looks like Chase Charping has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Charping tries to lock up and control but Gaines gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Charping seems to have recovered his senses.

Gaines is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Charping is forced to tap! Great finish!
