Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, butch springfield! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Johnson connects with the punch. Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but springfield circles away. Johnson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Johnson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Johnson moves into the clinch. Johnson tries to circle away but springfield has him pinned against the cage. Johnson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Johnson blocks a body shot from springfield. Johnson tries to pull guard but springfield won't allow it.
Johnson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Johnson is trying to break the clinch but springfield has him pressed against the cage. Johnson can't break the clinch.
springfield goes for a takedown attempt but Johnson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
springfield tries a low kick but Johnson avoids it. Johnson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson missing with a left hand there. springfield was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. springfield takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Johnson scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. springfield looks gassed! Johnson scores with a jab to the head.
Johnson is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Johnson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice sprawl there from springfield as Johnson shoots in. Johnson scores with a jab. springfield acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Johnson thows a left - swing and a miss! Johnson missing with a left hand there. springfield was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. springfield takes one on the chin but seems OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says springfield as he avoids it easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson cracks springfield with a good jab. springfield moves into range and clinches up with Johnson. Johnson stalling in the clinch but springfield improves position. Johnson is trying to break the clinch but springfield is controlling him. Johnson lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Come on Johnson - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Johnson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Johnson loads up on a big right hand but springfield slips the punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. springfield clinches with his opponent.
springfield keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Johnson's efforts to push away. Johnson tries to pull guard but springfield holds him up against the cage and eventually Johnson drops back down to his feet.
Johnson is trying to force a seperation but springfield has the dominant position. Johnson has had enough of the clinch but springfield keeps him there for the moment. Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
springfield circles away from the clinch attempt and springfield counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by springfield. Johnson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. springfield smiles and moves away.
springfield uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Johnson.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. springfield gets in close and instigates a clinch. Johnson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Johnson fails to pull guard.
Johnson tries to circle away but springfield has him pinned against the cage. Johnson working hard to break the clinch. Johnson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but springfield has him pressed against the cage. springfield has Johnson pressed against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johnson manages to break the clinch.
springfield tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Johnson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows springfield to score an easy takedown into full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Johnson dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Johnson wants to clinch but springfield slips to the side and springfield counters with a nice double leg into side control. Johnson won't be happy with that. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Johnson is trying to get back to half guard. springfield works to advance to full mount. Johnson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Johnson is trying to escape the mount.
springfield trying to control but Johnson is having none of it. springfield is breathing heavily. You get the feeling that Johnson really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's one minute gone in the round. springfield trying to control but Johnson is having none of it. Johnson wants to control but springfield is having none of it. springfield controlling the position easily from mount. springfield avoids the attempt from Johnson to control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. springfield takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Johnson tries to lock up and control but springfield gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson is desperately trying to improve his position but springfield has a good base and remains in mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. springfield avoids the attempt from Johnson to control. Johnson tries to buck springfield off but he can't manage it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. springfield controlling from the full mount. springfield wants to control the pace but Johnson is squirming around nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
butch springfield showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
springfield rushes Johnson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Johnson breaks the clinch.
Johnson misses the jab. Johnson thows a body shot but no joy. A swing and a miss from Johnson. Johnson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for springfield! Johnson throwing strikes here but springfield is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Johnson unloads with some shots from mount but springfield bucks and avoids them well.
Johnson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. springfield takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. springfield tries to hold on but Johnson postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson lands with some strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson is landing with some decent strikes but springfield is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Johnson landing strikes, looking to finish! Johnson misses with a head shot. springfield is wriggling around trying to escape.
springfield is squirming around, avoiding Johnson's attempts to control the action. Johnson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now springfield is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because springfield has passed into half guard!
Still in half guard, springfield seems content to control. Johnson is looking to get back to full guard here but springfield has managed to pass to side control instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Johnson won't allow springfield to pass to mount. Johnson has one foot on springfield's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. springfield staying out of range there. springfield moves forwards but Johnson connects with a nice, crisp jab. Johnson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps springfield's head backwards. springfield moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off. The fighters circling - Johnson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnson tries to clinch and springfield moves into the clinch. Johnson prevents a takedown attempt there.

Johnson pulls guard effortlessly. Johnson keeping moving, preventing springfield from controlling successfully. springfield wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position.
And that's the end of the fight! James Johnson showed his dominance in that final round. I think Johnson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
