Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny Siegel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenny Siegel will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Peters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenny Siegel! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peters drives through with a takedown into guard. Siegel controls Peters momentarily but Peters frees himself. Peters has gone for a leg lock! Siegel slips out almost immediately though and dives into Peters's guard. Siegel trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Siegel passes Peters's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Siegel performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Siegel is looking for a kimura here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Siegel is keen to just control but Peters is a slippery customer. Siegel wants to pass the guard but Peters is defending well. Siegel is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Siegel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Siegel is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Siegel slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Let's hope that Siegel has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Siegel wants to pass the guard but Peters is keeping the position. Siegel looking to sit in guard and control but Peters gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Peters has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peters loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Peters wants to control from the top but Siegel keeps moving. Peters drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Siegel manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Peters has Siegel in his guard. Siegel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peters swivels though and keeps the full guard. Siegel trying to control but Peters is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Siegel drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Peters dives on top into guard. Siegel wants to hit a switch here but Peters passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Siegel there! Poor strikes thrown by Peters there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Peters looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Siegel tries to hold on but Peters pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Peters will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Siegel stuffs the takedown attempt from Peters. Peters gets slowly back to his feet. Siegel stuffs the takedown. Siegel instigates a clinch. Siegel tries a knee to the head but Peters blocks it.
Siegel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Peters clinches up against the cage. Siegel is pressed up against the cage. Peters has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Siegel down to the mat. Siegel avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Peters. That's going to take a lot out of him. Peters closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Peters lands in his opponent's guard. Siegel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Peters defends it easily. Peters postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Siegel is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Peters, into his guard.

Peters is trying to maintain the position but Siegel is very close to passing his half guard. Siegel is looking to advance position but Peters won't allow it. Siegel seems to be looking for submissions.
Siegel looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Siegel is trying to work for a kimura but Peters is defending well.
Siegel is breathing heavily. Siegel passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Peters!

Siegel goes for an armbar but Peters turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Peters. Peters wants to stand and escape but instead Siegel has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Kenny Siegel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Siegel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peters tries to avoid it but Siegel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peters to the ground. Peters escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Siegel gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Peters to score an easy takedown into full guard. Siegel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Siegel keeping full guard, as Peters tries to pass. Peters working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Peters trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Siegel manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Siegel stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peters swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Peters is trying to control the position but Siegel postures up. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Peters's guard. Siegel is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Peters doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Siegel. Siegel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Siegel seems to be working for a kimura but Peters defends the submission attempt.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Kenny Siegel. Well Siegel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
