Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Fightmaster! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Kilmer! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kilmer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fightmaster looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Fightmaster is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Fightmaster's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Fightmaster tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kilmer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Kilmer misses with the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kilmer misses with the ground and pound. Fightmaster is looking to reverse the position. Kilmer is trying to get an arm triangle but Fightmaster is defending well. Kilmer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Fightmaster is not content to let Kilmer control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Fightmaster scores with a nice strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown by Kilmer or perhaps it was just good defense by Fightmaster which made him look bad. Kilmer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Fightmaster pinned against the cage. Fightmaster gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Fightmaster is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
It looks like Henry Kilmer has been cut. Henry Kilmer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kilmer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fightmaster's waist but Fightmaster gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kilmer off to one side. Max Fightmaster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Henry Kilmer. Kilmer doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Kilmer throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kilmer has a takedown stuffed.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fightmaster misses with a two punch combination.
Nice cross by Fightmaster. Fightmaster throws a monster overhand right that drops Kilmer! Fightmaster follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
