Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caeas Liege (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Choi Yong Sool (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Liege might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Ecstasy of Gold. Yong Sool is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Yangyu Conspiracy. Caeas Liege has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Choi Yong Sool! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liege scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Liege working away. Liege wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Yong Sool, who protects the arm well. Yong Sool keeping his opponent close. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Yong Sool's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Yong Sool tries to buck Liege off but Liege is having none of it. Yong Sool regains half guard. Yong Sool trying to control from the bottom.
Yong Sool slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Yong Sool tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Liege controls from within his opponent's guard. Yong Sool is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Yong Sool might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Liege kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Yong Sool working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Liege doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Liege manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Yong Sool looking to hit a scissor sweep but Liege is one step ahead there. Liege trying to control the position from guard on top but Yong Sool is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Liege gets to his feet - Yong Sool follows without any prompting. Yong Sool takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Yong Sool throws a hook to the side of Liege's head but Liege sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Yong Sool throws a looping overhand right but Liege ducks down to avoid it. Yong Sool throws the kick towards the body but Liege avoids it. Liege scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Yong Sool is trying to get back to full guard. Well, if Liege is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Liege seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Yong Sool does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Liege tries to stand but can't do so whilst Yong Sool controls his leg. Yong Sool gets back to full guard.

Liege wants to control from the top but Yong Sool keeps moving. Yong Sool is looking for a triangle but Liege pushes his legs off easily.

Yong Sool misses with a wild body shot. Yong Sool lands a jab to Liege's midsection. Yong Sool throws a sloppy head kick and Liege moves out of range easily. Yong Sool throws a half hearted mid kick. Horrible takedown by Liege or perhaps it was just good defense by Yong Sool which made him look bad. Liege scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Yong Sool is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Liege tries to score with some ground and pound. Yong Sool controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Liege will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Yong Sool gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Yong Sool manages to get to full guard.

Liege got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yong Sool has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Liege has managed to get both his arms back between Yong Sool's legs - danger averted.

Yong Sool keeping moving, preventing Liege from controlling successfully. Liege wants to stand but Yong Sool has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Liege wants to control from the top but Yong Sool keeps moving. Liege drops back, looking for a kneebar! Yong Sool looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Yong Sool looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Yong Sool! Yong Sool is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Liege is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Yong Sool throwing strikes but Liege manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Yong Sool tries to roll over but Liege keeps him under control. Yong Sool is trying to maintain the position but Liege is very close to passing his half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Liege scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Liege is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Yong Sool sees it coming and defends easily. Yong Sool is refusing to be controlled, as Liege sits in half guard. Yong Sool regains full guard. Nicely done. Liege is fighting to break Yong Sool's control of his arms but Yong Sool is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Yong Sool is trying to keep Liege in close.

Yong Sool throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Liege sees it coming and avoids it easily. A big left from Yong Sool misses. Choi Yong Sool seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Yong Sool shoots and misses and Liege counters with a three punch combo that has Yong Sool backing up. Yong Sool nods at Liege to acknowledge the strikes. Yong Sool swings and misses with a shot to the body and Liege counters with a nice double leg into guard. Liege sitting in guard, not really doing much. Yong Sool looking to hit a scissor sweep but Liege is one step ahead there. Liege throws and elbow that misses. Yong Sool uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Liege's guard. Nice move by Yong Sool! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Liege avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yong Sool drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Liege manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Yong Sool has Liege in his guard. Liege postures up.

That was a close round but Caeas Liege did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
