PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Schnieder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee has chosen Hip Hop-Dead Prez as his entrance music. Michael Lee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Lee!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Lee looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Schnieder will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lee swats away the attempt to clinch by Schnieder.
Schnieder lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lee circles away quickly and effectively.
Some wild striking there from Lee.

Schnieder shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lee is trying to defend but Schnieder finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Schnieder seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schnieder seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lee for as long as he can get away with.

Schnieder is trying to work for a kimura but Lee is defending well.

Schnieder is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lee doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Schnieder.

Lee tries to kick Schnieder off but Schnieder keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Schnieder seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Schnieder is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Schnieder is keen to just control but Lee is a slippery customer.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Schnieder is nestled in close to Lee, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jeff Schnieder just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Schnieder fails in his attempt to clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Lee swats away the attempt to clinch by Schnieder.
Schnieder throws a low kick but Lee avoids it.
Schnieder misses with a takedown attempt - Lee sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Lee uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Schnieder.
Lee throws a right hand that Schnieder ducks under and follows up with a left that Schnieder also avoids with ease.
Schnieder lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lee circles away quickly and effectively.
Lee throws a series of strikes that have Schnieder backpedaling.
Schnieder tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lee swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Lee moves into range and clinches up with Schnieder.

Lee ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lee no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Lee can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Schnieder controls the pace.

Schnieder drops back looking for a leg! Lee is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lee manages to kick Schnieder off! Schnieder jumps back into Lee's guard.

Schnieder trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom.

Schnieder sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Lee trying to strike off his back.
Schnieder pushes down on Lee's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Schnieder moves nicely into side control.

Schnieder has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Lee is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Schnieder yanks on the arm and Lee is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Schnieder.
