The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Motown shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Murvis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Motown stops Murvis from standing up.
Motown throws a big right hand that misses.

Murvis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Motown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Murvis is looking to stand up but Motown isn't so interested in that idea.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Motown is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Murvis manages to escape and get back to his feet.
A left and a right from Murvis both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Cake Motown has been cut.
Murvis connects with the punch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Murvis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Motown.
Horrible takedown by Motown or perhaps it was just good defense by Murvis which made him look bad.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Murvis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Motown swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Motown gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Motown fails to land the takedown.

Motown fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Murvis avoids it really well and circles away.

Motown shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Motown is breathing heavily.
Murvis looks like he's trying to stand up.

Murvis wants to get back to his feet.
Motown looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Motown is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Murvis pushes Motown off looking to stand but Motown dives back in and keeps control.

Motown throws a strike but Murvis avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Motown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Murvis swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Murvis wants to get back to his feet but Motown is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Motown.
Murvis lands a slapping body shot.
Jab, jab by Murvis - just one landing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Murvis tries to clinch but Motown moves out of range.

Motown closes this distance looking for a takedown but Murvis circles away.
Murvis lands a nice shot to the body.
Murvis punishes Motown's body with a nice straight punch.
Motown moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Motown walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
A combination from Murvis does no damage.
Murvis paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Murvis digs a good body shot into Motown's ribs.
The crowd cheers as Murvis lands an impressive looking overhand right. Motown doesn't seem phased though.

Motown is rocked!
BOOM! Murvis lands a beautiful left hook that drops Motown. Motown tries to recover but Murvis is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Motown lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
