The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bocatorta fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Thompson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Thompson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Thompson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Thompson is looking for a kimura here.
Bocatorta trying to hold on to Thompson's head to control him but Thompson postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Bocatorta is looking to control Thompson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bocatorta avoid being mounted?
Bocatorta taking some punishment here, with Thompson in his half guard.
Thompson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bocatorta does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Bocatorta regains full guard. Nicely done.
Thompson is looking to stand up but Bocatorta won't let him.
Thompson stands and steps away. Bocatorta gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Bocatorta looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Thompson lands with a big left! Bocatorta is wobbled badly! Thompson comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Bocatorta to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
