The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
City throws a body punch but Williams moves out of range.
City throws a nice looking combination but Williams bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
City throws a jab when Williams was well out of range.
Williams misses with a wild body shot.
Williams avoids a punch combination nicely.
City really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
City uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Williams.

Williams looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for City!
City is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
City is working to get back to half guard.

City postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Williams is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of City, into his guard.

Williams keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of City's head.
Williams missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
City wants to sweep but no luck.
Williams is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Williams got a little sloppy there for a moment and City has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Williams has managed to get both his arms back between City's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Williams holds on, trying desperately to control.
Williams wants to hold on but City pushes him away.
City misses with a head shot.

City jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Williams is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Williams and City has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

City wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Williams, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

DJ Williams dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


City swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
City uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Williams has time to react.
Williams misses with a body shot.
Iron City seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
City lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Williams shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Williams showed some decent athleticism there.
City taking some punishment here, with Williams in his half guard.

City is pressing down on Williams's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
City controls Williams momentarily but Williams frees himself.
City looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

City is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Williams with a flurry of punches that miss.
Williams thows a big elbow that misses.
Williams cracks City with a solid left hand.
City is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
City prevents Williams from improving his position.
Williams has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. City is working away from the top position though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williams can do anything to dispel that myth.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

City seems to be working for a kimura but Williams defends the submission attempt.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Williams avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Williams looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. City manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Williams wants to control from the top but City keeps moving.

City lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Williams!

City throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Williams has his hands clasped together but City breaks the hold and Williams is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by City!
