The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villa misses the shot to the body.
Perry shoots in for a takedown but Villa shows good takedown defense.
Perry doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The fighters circle momentarily. Villa darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Dalton Perry has been cut.
Villa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Perry closes the distance and clinches up with Villa, looking for a takedown. Perry pushes Villa against the cage but Villa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Villa throws the left hand but Perry avoids the punch easily.
Villa lands a glancing blow to the side of Perry's head.

Perry drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Perry got a little sloppy there for a moment and Villa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Perry has managed to get both his arms back between Villa's legs - danger averted.
Villa is pulling down on Perry's head. It's preventing any offense from Perry, at least for the moment.
Villa wants to stand but Perry is controlling the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Perry shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Villa defends it nicely.
Rafael Villa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dalton Perry.

Perry shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Villa napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Perry tries for a kimura but Villa is defending well.

Perry is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Villa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Villa thows a body shot but no joy.

and Villa counters with a series of strikes. Perry will be more careful next time no doubt.

Villa steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Perry is out on his feet! Villa sets himself and nearly takes Perry's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
