PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pendach Lachtenvieser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giorgio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lachtenvieser is defended easily by Giorgio.
Lachtenvieser uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Giorgio.
Lachtenvieser dodges the punch combination from Giorgio.

No joy there for Giorgio, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Lachtenvieser lands with a nice combination. Giorgio backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Giorgio has been cut.
Giorgio comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Lachtenvieser is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Giorgio throws a right hand that Lachtenvieser ducks under and follows up with a left that Lachtenvieser also avoids with ease.
Lachtenvieser will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Giorgio misses with a series of wild punches.
Giorgio throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lachtenvieser takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Lachtenvieser changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Giorgio tries to avoid it but Lachtenvieser manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Giorgio to the ground. Giorgio escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Giorgio's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Giorgio duly obliges.

Giorgio lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Giorgio is trying to maintain a safe position but Lachtenvieser gets an underhook and turns Giorgio into the cage.

Giorgio drags the fight down to the ground.
Lachtenvieser is looking to work some ground and pound but Giorgio has wrist control.
Giorgio is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Lachtenvieser tries to free his leg and advance position but Giorgio is retaining full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Giorgio bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lachtenvieser's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Giorgio gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Lachtenvieser shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Giorgio but Giorgio pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lachtenvieser takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Giorgio stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Giorgio wants it to stay on the feet.
Lachtenvieser misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Giorgio lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Giorgio is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lachtenvieser shoots in but no luck this time.
Giorgio lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lachtenvieser at a distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Giorgio connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lachtenvieser momentarily.

Giorgio has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lachtenvieser uses from the top position.

Oh but Giorgio is tightening it up a little... Lachtenvieser has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight!
