Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Turner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eddie Valasquez! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valasquez keeps the fight on the outside. Turner throws a right hand that Valasquez ducks under and follows up with a left that Valasquez also avoids with ease. Turner fails to land with a series of punches.
Turner sizes up Valasquez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Turner lands a lovely overhand right. James Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Valasquez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Turner throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Valasquez to counter with a crisp jab. Turner misses with an uppercut. Valasquez saw that one coming. Valasquez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Turner. Turner lands an overhand right. Turner throws a left and a right that both miss
and Valasquez counters with a stiff right hand. Turner throws a hook to the side of Valasquez's head but Valasquez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Turner throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Valasquez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like James Turner has been cut. Turner tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Valasquez counters with a crisp right hand that drops Turner! Valasquez lets Turner back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Turner is rocked! Turner is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Valasquez swinging wilding here.
A telegraphed right hand from Turner misses the target. Valasquez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Turner throws out the jab. Valasquez lands with a nice combination. Turner backs away looking to recover. Turner on the wrong end of a nice hook. Turner swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Valasquez counters with a left right combination that sends Turner crashing to the mat - Valasquez wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Turner out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eddie Valasquez!
