1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Copeland! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! monsoon gets a takedown into half guard. Copeland tries to kick monsoon off but monsoon keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. monsoon looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Copeland with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. monsoon is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
monsoon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Copeland sees it coming and defends easily. monsoon wants to work for an arm triangle but Copeland is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Copeland is looking to improve his position.
Copeland looks gassed! monsoon is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Copeland doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time monsoon.
That's one minute gone in the round. monsoon trying to control the action but Copeland is working from the bottom. monsoon wants to pass the guard but Copeland is defending well. monsoon seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. monsoon is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. monsoon is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Copeland is just riding it out for now. monsoon eventually gives up the hold.
That's two minutes gone in the round. monsoon seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. monsoon passes the guard and advances to mount! monsoon is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by monsoon!
