Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Pritchett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doran Connell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Doran Connell! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Connell is looking to clinch. Pritchett closes the distance and clinches. Connell is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Pritchett is defending well for now. A nice glancing elbow lands by Connell. Connell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Connell tries to land a knee to the head but Pritchett blocks with his arms.

Chris Pritchett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Doran Connell. Connell is breathing heavily. Connell tries for a takedown but Pritchett circles away easily and Pritchett counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Pritchett has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. That's better than Connell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Pritchett wants to control but Connell is having none of it. Pritchett is trying to escape the mount.
