PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brian Jalandoni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Barker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jalandoni comes to the cage accompanied by Koro. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Travis Barker was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Jalandoni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Travis Barker!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barker looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Jalandoni keeping moving, preventing Barker from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barker won't allow Jalandoni to get back to his feet.
Jalandoni tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Barker drops back looking for a leg! Jalandoni is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jalandoni manages to kick Barker off! Barker jumps back into Jalandoni's guard.

Jalandoni is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Barker is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barker trying to control the position from guard on top but Jalandoni is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jalandoni manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Barker is looking to improve his position but Jalandoni isn't that keen on the idea.

Jalandoni moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Barker has worked his arm free - good work by Barker!

Jalandoni swings around for an armbar but Barker sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jalandoni's guard.
Jalandoni is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Barker wants to control from the top but Jalandoni keeps moving.

Jalandoni working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jalandoni looking for a guillotine here but Barker defends easily.
Jalandoni looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barker is one step ahead there.
Barker trying to control but Jalandoni is working from the bottom.

Barker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Barker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jalandoni is on top in guard.

Barker looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jalandoni drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Barker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jalandoni has Barker in his guard.

Jalandoni manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barker manages to get himself to full guard.

Jalandoni goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Barker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jalandoni but great work by Barker.

Barker is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jalandoni knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

and Barker counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jalandoni is on top in guard.

Barker is breathing heavily.
Jalandoni controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jalandoni wants to stand up but Barker is controlling him.

Barker drops back looking for a leg! Jalandoni is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jalandoni manages to kick Barker off! Barker jumps back into Jalandoni's guard.

Jalandoni has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Barker doesn't defend quickly enough and Jalandoni has managed to lock this one up! Can Barker escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Jalandoni on a fantastic submission victory.
