The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
herns doesn't manage to clinch there - Cook circles away.
Cook drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Cook won't allow herns to get back to his feet.
herns keeping moving, preventing Cook from controlling successfully.
Cook drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cook jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
herns is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cook is controlling him.
herns avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Cook is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
herns ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cook moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round.
herns feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Cook has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. herns doesn't defend quickly enough and Cook has managed to lock this one up! Can herns escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Cook on a fantastic submission victory.
