Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Santos misses.
Santos looks to land a combination but Stam avoids it well.
Santos looks for a takedown but Stam sprawls well.
Santos shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Stam manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Stam wants to sweep but no luck.
Santos working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Stam's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Santos postures up in Stam's guard and throws a big left but Stam blocks it.

Stam really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Stam tries to clinch up but Santos circles away and keeps his distance.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Santos shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stam as he avoids it easily.
Stam feints and then cracks Santos's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Santos down.

Stam works over Santos's head and body with a nice combination.
Santos takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stam moves into the clinch.
Stam presses Santos against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Stam is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Stam is pushing Santos up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santos is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Oh Santos is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Stam, right into the meat.
Santos seems to have got his legs back now.
A punch combination from Stam misses.
Stam lands a left and a right that send Santos crashing to the mat, dazed. Stam thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Stam darts in and clinches Santos up against the cage.
Stam has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Stam throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Tage Stam seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Oh, another knee lands and Santos is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Santos doesn't seem to be complaining.
