Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pierre Richards!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schmidt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Richards circles away.

Schmidt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Schmidt is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Richards can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Schmidt pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Richards wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Schmidt tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Schmidt gets underhooks to prevent Richards's takedown attempt.
Schmidt wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andreas Schmidt. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Richards escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Schmidt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Richards avoids it really well and circles away.
Schmidt shoots for a takedown but Richards saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Schmidt is breathing heavily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Schmidt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Richards feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
