Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Larry Smoker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Read Ro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Ro's choice of entrance music: CAN A CAN GET A WHAT WHAT. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ro fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ro bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Smoker's head.
Ro has closed the distance and engaged Smoker in a clinch.
Smoker has Ro pressed against the cage, preventing Ro from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Ro jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Smoker walks away with a smile on his face. Ro gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ro clinches.
Ro is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Larry Smoker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Read Ro.
Ro has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nice takedown defense from Ro. No joy for Smoker on that attempt.

and Ro counters with a left to the body.
Ro darts in and clinches Smoker up against the cage.

Smoker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

and Ro finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Ro smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

and Ro counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ro scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Ro changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smoker tries to avoid it but Ro manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smoker to the ground. Smoker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Ro counters with a big head kick but Smoker shrugs it off.
Smoker avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ro feints and as Smoker raises his hands in defense, Ro changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ro distracts Smoker with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Ro gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Smoker leaves Ro with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ro works over Smoker's head and body with a nice combination.
Ro shoots in for a takedown but Smoker shows good takedown defense.

Ro shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smoker as he avoids it easily.

Ro has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Well Ro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
