The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kawoski stuffs the takedown attempt from Castle. Castle gets slowly back to his feet. Kawoski feints and as Castle raises his hands in defense, Kawoski changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Kawoski stands up from guard. Let's bang! Castle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Castle throws a head kick that misses. Kawoski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Kawoski decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Castle, up you get! Castle scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Castle throws a sloppy head kick and Kawoski moves out of range easily. Kawoski shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Castle is trying to defend but Kawoski finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. This has been an exciting period of action! Kawoski is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Kawoski is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Castle is just riding it out for now. Kawoski eventually gives up the hold. Kawoski knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Castle on the ground. Kawoski stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Kawoski is breathing heavily.

Castle decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kawoski looks like he's trying to stand up.
Castle thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Castle winds up and cracks Kawoski with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Castle seems to be working for a kimura but Kawoski defends the submission attempt. Kawoski wants to get back to his feet. Castle not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kawoski is in trouble now - Castle has advanced to mount! Castle working for a guillotine from mount but Kawoski is in no mood to give up.

Castle can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kawoski is looking to escape. Kawoski working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. BOOM! Castle connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Kawoski's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Castle avoids the attempt from Kawoski to control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kawoski is in all sorts of trouble here.

That was a close round but I would say that Igor Kawoski will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Castle keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A head kick misses from Castle. Castle tries a head kick but it misses.
Kawoski closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Castle misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Kawoski tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Castle. Kawoski decides to stand and escape the position. Castle misses with a head kick.

Castle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Castle pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Castle lands a head kick!
That's one minute gone in the round. Castle throws a head kick that misses. Kawoski shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Castle pinned against the cage. Castle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kawoski closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Castle to the mat! Castle manages to get full guard. Castle is working an open guard so Kawoski takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Castle gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kawoski has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Castle is proving hard to escape from. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kawoski postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Castle is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kawoski, into his guard. Kawoski tries to strike from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Castle passes Kawoski's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Kawoski wants to get back to his feet.
Castle lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Castle is looking to take a break and control but Kawoski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Castle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kawoski is just riding it out for now. Castle eventually gives up the hold. Castle stops Kawoski from getting back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Castle lands a high kick!

Kawoski shoots in for a double leg but Castle sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Igor Kawoski. That's going to take a lot out of him. Castle slaps away a takedown attempt from Kawoski, before circling back to the center of the mat. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Castle fails with an attempt to clinch.

Castle looks for a takedown but Kawoski sprawls well. Kawoski scores a takedown into full mount! Castle is looking to improve his position but Kawoski isn't that keen on the idea.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kawoski unloading with bombs! Kawoski goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Castle turns into him and now he's in Kawoski's guard.
Castle drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Castle as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Kawoski screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Castle! Nice submission victory there!
