The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza shoots in but no luck this time.
De Paula Tejando cracks the inside of Souza's front leg.
Souza fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but De Paula Tejando avoids it really well and circles away.
Souza tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but De Paula Tejando swivels and escapes.
Major De Paula Tejando has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Augusto Souza.
Souza decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Souza not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Souza looks gassed!
Souza is looking to take a break and control but De Paula Tejando is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
De Paula Tejando is trying to stand up here but Souza is controlling him well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
De Paula Tejando lands a head kick. Souza smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Augusto Souza has been cut.

Souza moves in looking to clinch but De Paula Tejando pushes him off.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from De Paula Tejando! Souza is out on his feet! De Paula Tejando rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Souza is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Souza is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
