Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Tennant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Goldstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Tennant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tom Goldstein!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tennant tries to clinch up but Goldstein circles away and keeps his distance.
David Tennant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goldstein fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tennant avoids it really well and circles away.
Tennant tries to close the distance and clinch but Goldstein swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice body kick there by Tennant.
Goldstein throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tennant's waist but Tennant gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Goldstein off to one side.

Goldstein closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tennant to the mat! Tennant manages to get full guard.
Goldstein is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Goldstein tries to free his leg and advance position but Tennant is retaining full guard.
Goldstein trying to control but Tennant is working from the bottom.
Goldstein passes into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Goldstein is looking to take a break and control but Tennant is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Goldstein is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tennant tries to clinch but Goldstein moves out of range.
Tennant is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Goldstein scores with a takedown into Tennant's guard.

Tennant keeping moving, preventing Goldstein from controlling successfully.

Goldstein has gone for a leg lock! Tennant slips out almost immediately though and dives into Goldstein's guard.
Goldstein looks gassed!

Goldstein looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Tennant passes into half guard.
Tennant seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Goldstein wants to improve his position but Tennant is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Goldstein is trying to control but can't.
Goldstein moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Goldstein is looking for a triangle here but Tennant uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Goldstein wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Tennant has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Goldstein's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Goldstein is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Tennant!
