The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luque tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ruiz swivels and escapes.
Ruiz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Luque's guard.
Ruiz is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Ruiz is posturing up here but Luque has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Ruiz tries to roll out but it's too tight and Ruiz has to tap! Slick submission there by Luque!
