Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, piet snot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Stubb! The judges for this bout are , and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stubb is defended easily by snot. snot throws a head kick but Stubb moves out of range.
A solid body kick from snot. snot clinches up against the cage. Stubb is looking for a takedown up against the cage. snot gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Stubb is trying to drag snot to the mat but snot just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. piet snot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Stubb. Stubb wants the takedown. snot is fighting it off but Stubb persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in snot's guard against the cage. snot trying to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. snot utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Stubb slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. snot is trying to control Stubb's posture but Stubb avoids it. snot is trying to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stubb thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Stubb is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. snot knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Stubb goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, snot has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Stubb but great work by snot. snot decides to stand back up. snot steps back and let's Stubb get back to his feet. Stubb walks into a left hand.
It looks like Michael Stubb has been cut. snot lands a head kick!
Horrible takedown by Stubb or perhaps it was just good defense by snot which made him look bad. Stubb looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. snot is looking to slow Stubb down with leg kicks. This has been an exciting period of action! snot throws a quick inside leg kick. snot throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Stubb. snot cracks Stubb with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Stubb tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but snot pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Stubb is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). piet snot!
