Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Connely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that John Storm has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John Storm seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Storm! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Connely! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Connely shoots for a double leg takedown but Storm sprawls well. He's pushed Connely's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Connely is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Storm.
It looks like Chris Connely has been cut. Storm stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Storm wants it to stay on the feet. Storm fails to land with a series of punches.
Connely shoots in but Storm avoids the takedown attempt easily. John Storm has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Connely. Connely shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Storm tries to get to full guard but Connely has control of the leg. Storm pushes Connely off looking to stand but Connely dives back in and keeps control.

Storm tries to get to full guard but Connely has control of the leg. Connely is looking for a kimura but Storm is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Connely to get the leverage.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Connely looks for a takedown but Storm sprawls well. Storm misses the shot to the body. Storm lands a right hook to the body.
Storm throws a body punch but Connely moves out of range. Storm stuffs the takedown attempt from Connely. Connely gets slowly back to his feet. Connely looks gassed! Connely fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Chris Connely seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Connely takes a shot to the body in his stride.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Storm defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Connely. Storm connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Connely's hands. Storm lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Storm sprawls well. Connely takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Storm throws a body punch but Connely moves out of range. Storm fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Storm swinging wilding here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Connely swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Storm ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Connely moves away. Storm throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Connely lands with a shot to the body. Storm throws a nice looking combination but Connely bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Connely feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Connely postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Connely stopping the sweep attempt from Storm. Storm preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Storm tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Connely throwing strikes but missing. Connely passes Storm's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Storm is looking for a sweep. Connely is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Storm throws a right hand that Connely ducks under and follows up with a left that Connely also avoids with ease. Connely closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Storm did well to prevent Connely getting side control. Connely lands strikes from half guard. Connely trying to control the action but Storm is working from the bottom. Connely is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Storm sees it coming and defends easily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Storm tries to roll over but Connely keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that John Storm will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Chris Connely's cut. That's time! Storm's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Storm is looking to wear down Connely with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Connely steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Storm. Connely throws out a loose jab but Storm uses good head movement to avoid it. Storm lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Connely in side control, throwing shots but Storm defends. Connely is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Storm has escaped the position, nice work there. Storm can't do much from the bottom here. Connely has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Storm is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Storm is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Connely looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Storm is looking to improve his position but Connely isn't that keen on the idea. Connely tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Connely avoids the attempt from Storm to control. Connely lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Storm hang on? Connely connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Connely is landing with some decent strikes but Storm is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Connely is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Storm can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Connely throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Storm was covering up waiting for the punch and Connely finishes the takedown easily into guard. Connely stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Storm swivels though and keeps the full guard. Connely is pushing down on Storm's leg trying to pass to half guard. Storm is fighting to maintain full guard but Connely has managed to sneak the leg through. Connely is keen to just control but Storm is a slippery customer. Storm is trying to stand up here but Connely is controlling him well. Connely is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Storm chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Connely can pounce on him.

The ground and pound from Connely seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Connely trying to control the position but Storm is working away. Connely throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Connely swings around for an armbar but Storm sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Connely's guard. Storm would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Chris Connely comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Connely has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
