Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tony Spicey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Forlorn Destroyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Forlorn Destroyer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Spicey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Forlorn Destroyer!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Bruno Lombardi and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spicey fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Spicey!
Destroyer stuffs the takedown.
Destroyer avoids the head kick by Spicey.
Spicey tries to close the distance and clinch up but Destroyer swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Spicey gets a takedown into half guard.
Spicey passes into side control, despite Destroyer's attempt to control the position.
Destroyer is looking to reverse the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Spicey wants to control but Destroyer is keeping him busy.
Spicey tries to move to mount but Destroyer blocks the move with his legs.
Spicey working away.

Spicey decides to stand up, so the ref orders Destroyer to his feet.

Destroyer clinches up with Spicey and pushes him back against the cage.

Destroyer works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Destroyer wants to pass the guard but Spicey is keeping the position.

Spicey wants to stand but Destroyer is controlling the position.
Destroyer trying to control the position from guard on top but Spicey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Destroyer prevents Spicey from getting back to his feet.
Destroyer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Spicey is keeping the position for now.

Destroyer trying to stand up but can't free himself from Spicey's guard.
Destroyer trying to control the position from guard on top but Spicey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Destroyer misses with a body kick.
Destroyer is looking to chop away at Spicey's legs.

Spicey clinches.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Destroyer breaks from the clinch.
Destroyer shoots and misses

and Spicey counters with a single leg into guard. Destroyer didn't expect that.

Spicey gets to his feet. Destroyer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Spicey is breathing heavily.

Destroyer has closed the distance and engaged Spicey in a clinch.

Destroyer tightens his grip and picks Spicey up, before dumping him to the ground. Spicey manages to land in guard.

Spicey looking for a guillotine here but Destroyer defends easily.
Destroyer controlling from the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Spicey dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Destroyer wants to clinch

and Spicey counters with a nice double leg into side control. Destroyer won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spicey stands up and beckons Destroyer to his feet.
Spicey misses with a takedown

and Destroyer counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Destroyer wants to get up but he can't break Spicey's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Destroyer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Destroyer prevents Spicey from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Destroyer throwing strikes from guard but Spicey blocks nicely.
Destroyer sitting in guard here, content to control.
Destroyer looking to pass the guard.
Spicey keeping moving, preventing Destroyer from controlling successfully.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Destroyer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Destroyer showed some decent athleticism there.
It looks like Destroyer is going to stand back up.
Destroyer wants to pass the guard but Spicey is defending well.

Destroyer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Spicey does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Destroyer seems to be working for a kimura but Spicey defends the submission attempt.
Destroyer prevents Spicey from improving his position.
Destroyer content to control rather than advance.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Destroyer lands strikes from half guard.
Tony Spicey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Destroyer is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Destroyer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Spicey misses with a wild combination.
Spicey checks the leg kick nicely there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Forlorn Destroyer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Destroyer tries for a takedown but Spicey circles away easily

and Spicey counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Destroyer!

Spicey is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Spicey gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Destroyer counters by clinching up.

Destroyer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Destroyer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Spicey is trying to defend but Destroyer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Spicey is looking to escape.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Destroyer is keen to just control but Spicey is a slippery customer.
Destroyer thows a huge punch but Spicey dodges it nicely.
Destroyer trying to control from half guard but Spicey is working away.
Destroyer seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Destroyer trying to control the pace.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Destroyer connects with a nice short shot to Spicey's temple.
Destroyer is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Destroyer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Spicey with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Destroyer throwing shots but Spicey is blocking nicely.

Destroyer looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Destroyer not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Spicey taking some punishment here, with Destroyer in his half guard.
Well, if Destroyer is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Destroyer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Spicey doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Destroyer.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Destroyer trying to pass the guard but Spicey defending well.
Destroyer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Forlorn Destroyer.
I think Destroyer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
