Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jilbert Uvel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Uvel comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Thunderstruck. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jilbert Uvel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Mir!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uvel doesn't manage to clinch there - Mir circles away.
Mir throws a head kick but Uvel moves out of range.
Uvel could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mir closes the distance and clinches.
Mir can't get the takedown.
Uvel is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
A frustrated look appears on Uvel's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Uvel tries to circle away but Mir has him pinned against the cage.
Mir manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Mir has a closed guard, preventing Uvel from standing up.
Uvel with a flurry of punches that miss.
Mir bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Uvel's guard.
Mir pushes down on Uvel's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mir in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Uvel tries to kick Mir off but Mir keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ground and pound from Mir.
Uvel pushes Mir off but Mir dives into side control.
Uvel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mir on the ground.
Uvel is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mir is controlling him well.
A lull in the action here as Mir stalls from top position.
Uvel tries to escape but Mir is in control.
Mir remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Mir is trying to get an arm triangle but Uvel is defending well.

Mir tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Mir prevents Uvel from escaping the position.
Mir takes a little break here. Uvel wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Uvel is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Mir looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Uvel wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Uvel is breathing heavily.
Check out the look on Mir's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Uvel is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mir asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Mir is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Mir is working to tighten is grip on Uvel's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Uvel has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Mir is really squeezing tight and eventually Uvel passes out! Mir breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
