Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pavlos Stathis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Monkey King!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stathis connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between King's hands.
Horrible takedown by King or perhaps it was just good defense by Stathis which made him look bad.
King will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
King slips under a jab.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Stathis throws a series of punches but King moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Stathis lands a big uppercut and King crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but King looks OK. Stathis waves King back to his feet!
It looks like Monkey King has been cut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from King.
Stathis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but King was well out of range. Poor timing from Stathis.

King fails with a takedown attempt.
Pavlos Stathis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Monkey King.
King shoots in but Stathis avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Stathis lands a left and a right that send King crashing to the mat, dazed. Stathis thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

King shoots for a takedown but Stathis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - King has eaten all the pies!
King drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Stathis is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Stathis throws a right and a left that King avoids nicely.

King will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Monkey King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stathis throws a nice looking combination but King bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stathis defends it nicely.

Stathis tries to bum rush King with a series of wild strikes but King uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

King avoids a punch combination nicely.
King shoots for a double leg takedown but Stathis sprawls well. He's pushed King's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but King might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Stathis has got the better of the exchanges.
Stathis leaves King with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
King closes the distance and clinches up with Stathis, looking for a takedown. King pushes Stathis against the cage but Stathis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Stathis throws a right hand that King ducks under and follows up with a left that King also avoids with ease.
Stathis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

King misses with a head kick.
Stathis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from King.
Pavlos Stathis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
King fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
King tries for a takedown but Stathis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
King on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Stathis throws a jab but it's blocked by King.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stathis lands a hook that stumbles King back into the cage. Stathis follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping King to the canvas! Stathis pounces and lands several unanswered shots - King has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
