Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Halperin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Medina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jean Medina told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan Halperin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Medina! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Halperin stalks Medina and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Medina's face. Medina staggers backwards, shaken. Halperin wants to clinch up but Medina keeps it at a distance. Halperin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Medina sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Halperin somewhat. Medina gets a clinch. Medina gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Halperin is looking to control Medina's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Halperin avoid being mounted? Medina tries to pass to full mount but Halperin defends it. Medina not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Medina wants to free his trapped foot but Halperin is holding on for dear life with his legs. Halperin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Medina really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Halperin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Medina trying to control the position from guard on top but Halperin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Medina pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Halperin is keeping the position for now. Halperin looking to control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Halperin tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Medina counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Halperin! Halperin wants to hold on but Medina pushes him away. Halperin tries to get back to half guard but can't. Medina tries to control but Halperin wriggling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Halperin can't escape the position.
Halperin regains half guard. Medina lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Medina throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Halperin is not content to let Medina control the position. Halperin wants to control but Medina is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Halperin looks like he's trying to stand up.

Medina trying to control the action but Halperin is working from the bottom. Halperin keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Halperin wants to clinch and Medina counters with a nice double leg into guard. Medina looking to sit in guard and control but Halperin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Medina looks gassed! Halperin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Halperin passes Medina's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Halperin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Halperin passes to side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Halperin in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Medina regains half guard there - taking advantage of Halperin's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Halperin trying to pass the guard but Medina defending well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jean Medina dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Medina gets a takedown into half guard. Halperin moves into full guard.
Medina must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Halperin is working an open guard so Medina takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Medina throws a combination that misses and Halperin counters with a straight right hand. Halperin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Medina counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Medina. Medina is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Medina trying to control the position from guard on top but Halperin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Halperin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Halperin is on top in guard.
Halperin drops back looking for a leg! Medina is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Medina manages to kick Halperin off! Halperin jumps back into Medina's guard. Medina doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Halperin works a leg free and moves into half guard. Medina is not content to let Halperin control the position. Medina tries to roll over but Halperin keeps him under control. Halperin trying to control the action but Medina is working from the bottom. Medina wants to sweep but Halperin has passed to side control! Halperin advances to full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Halperin trying to control but he's not successful this time. Halperin working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Halperin wants to get back to his feet but Medina is holding on tight.
Halperin trying to control but Medina is having none of it. Medina tries to control the position but Halperin now has his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Halperin wants to control but Medina is keeping busy. Halperin throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Medina!
Will Halperin go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Halperin is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Medina won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Halperin off his unconscious opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jordan Halperin!
